Today’s topic is: Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading and Why

1. Shadow Me (Shatter Me 4.5) by Tahereh Mafi
2. Defy Me (Shatter Me 5) by Tahereh Mafi
   Okay these two I’m avoiding because I’ve put too much space since reading the last one and the cliffhanger was a killer and then it’s probably going to happen again and then I gotta wait for the next release and I’m just nervous okay??
3. Slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut 
   Ugh, I”m sorry to Mr. Bills by high school english teacher, he recommended this book to me a thousand years ago and I’m just dragging my feet because the only other Vonnegut book I read took some effort and like, there aren’t magical fairies and romance in this book…I’ll get to it eventually (I whisper to myself over and over again for decades to come).
4. Sharp Object by Gillian Flynn
5. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
   These books are just outside of my typical genre so I’m just like meh, when I think about reading them even though I’m sure they’re good and I should read them.
6. Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas 
   I love Penelope Douglas but I’m nervous about this one because I have a weird thing about age gaps in relationships and that’s a big part of the romantic taboo in this book. It has great reviews though so I know I just gotta trust my girl and dive in.
7. The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu 
   This is just daunting and that’s that. Also there are two more books after it that are also daunting. My husband just finished reading them and while he had several eager moments wanting to talk to me about it, he didn’t leave me feeling like I HAD to get on these.
8. Red Rising by Pierce Brown 
   So I really do want to read this but then I’ll want to read the sequels right away and that means I’ll have to buy them and I feel like I need to knock out more books I actually own first..???
9. Night Fall by Isaac Asimov
   Asimov is such a cool author I love his sci-fi concepts but he can be work to read and I have to be in a totally different mindset then when I’m about to take off on a paranormal fantasy romance adventure per usual.
10. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
    I’m still so salty about that time I bought the boxed set on Amazon and it showed up unopened but somehow had two copies of book two and none of book three??? And then they couldn’t just send me the third book and have me send back my duplicate second book but instead I had to send the whole boxset back and now I’m like uhghghdghfdhh I wanna read you but I don’t want to try buying you again right now.
