Right now, Jeaniene Frost.  I cannot get enough of her Night Huntress series and all the spin-offs.  Best vampire series ever.

All the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson books by Louise Rennison.  My high school friends and I were obsessed and then later I made my college roommate read them.  Currently rereading now too.  They are so bonkers and hilarious.

 

Furby
Book that seemed like a good idea but was actually a monster.

Hands down, the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. It started out so good, and was exactly what I was looking for after the Hunger Games and then it just ended SO awfully I can’t even. Stupid stupid stupid book.  It still pisses me off.  I could rant a lot more but I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. Just like I’ve NEVER needed a Furby in my life. (Side story: when Furby made a comeback a few years back my mom and sisters thought would be HILarious to get me one since you know, I loved hated my original 90s one so much.  It was still a monster, and this time with an interactive app. smh.)

 

N*SYNC
Book you hated to say Bye, Bye, Bye to.

I don’t think this answer can ever not be Harry Potter. I mean, it was epic and perfect and we got our happily ever after. But.  More please? I wanna go back to Hogwarts! I actually struggled with reading the final book when it came out because I was just not ready to let go.

 

Slimed!
A book everyone loved but you hated.

Ugh most definitely, Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I seriously hated this book and a few of my friends at the time were encouraging me to read it and I just did not understand what was good about it. I liked the trope premise but then everything else was nonsense and the sex scenes were garbage and didn’t even seem like the heroine enjoyed herself. I was talking to my sister later that year and she was telling me she had read the worst book recently and I was like me too and we were both laughing our heads off when we realized we were both talking about the same one!

 

Oregon Trail
A book that made you wish you died of dysentery.

Probably half the stuff they tried to make me read in high school. Like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Or I remember this really awful one from elementary school called The Sign of the Beaver.

Dial-up Internet
A book that took FOR FREAKING EVER to read.

Game of Thrones.  The first book, the second, etc etc etc. No series has EVER taken me that long to read. I’m talking YEARS. And it’s not that I couldn’t keep up. It was just that I was completely exhausted each time I had to start a new chapter in another freaking character POV.  Some people say this makes them read quicker but for me it throws off my reading pace.

The book you see referenced everywhere and is in everything, but that’s okay because it’s awesome.

Harry Potter and A Court of Thorns & Roses. Not even mad because I’m def a part of both fandoms. I love how much these books bring people together.

 

Heads Up, Seven Up
Book where you peeked just REAL quick at the ending because you don’t like guessing games.

Oh man, I haven’t done this in a while, especially when I read ebooks so much because it makes it harder to do that. I feel like I remember peeking some in the later Harry Potter books.  Maybe one of the Shadowhunter books? I’m not really sure. Usually I just peek to see if a character I’m worried about has dialogue at the end so I know they aren’t dead.

I’m actually not really good at snacking and reading at the same time. Usually some type of beverage is better for me. Like tea. or wine. or beer.

 

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
A book that kept you up all night. 

Okay these creepo stories seem vaguely familiar but I feel pretty confident that I would have steered clear from them.  Horror is not my genre of choice at all.  When I was in elementary school I had nightmares just from looking at the cover of my mom’s IT by Stephen King book.  In terms of just staying up all night, I have a bad habit of reading well into the early morning hours with most of the books I read so I couldn’t choose just one.

 

Bill Nye the Science Guy
A book that taught you something new.

I was actually just telling a friend this earlier.  I had never heard about the traditional wedding anniversary gifts thing, where it’s a different material or something for each year, until I had read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I feel pretty confident my husband has never heard of it either.
